Slim is a brown cartoon horse who wears a sheriff hat and a red bandana and works as a cowboy in the desert wasteland. He gallops between small ruined towns, rounds up runaway two-headed cattle with his lasso, chases scrap bandits, and helps the townsfolk of Dry Creek. Main plotline: Slim follows a torn hand-drawn map toward a legendary green valley where grass still grows, finding one piece of the map in every episode.
Hal and Petunia are a married couple who run the Half-Moon Motel, the last motel on a desert highway after the war. Every episode a strange guest checks in, like a two-headed traveling salesman, a mutant biker, or an old lady with a pet scorpion, and something breaks, like the generator, the plumbing, or the neon sign. Main plotline: Hal and Petunia argue, scheme, and make up while keeping the motel open one more night with almost no paying guests.
A cooking competition filmed in a ruined roadside diner turned TV studio. Each episode two wasteland cooks open a rusty basket of mutant ingredients, like a two-headed fish, glowing cave mushrooms, or unlabeled cans of pre-war mystery meat, and cook one dish each on scrap-metal stoves under a ticking countdown clock. Three bunker judges in tattered formal wear taste every plate and pick a winner, who receives a sealed jar of clean water. Main plotline: the show travels town by town crowning local champions on the road to the grand final at the Vault Grand Hotel.
